Ritchie Says NI Manufacturers Need More Than Corporation Tax Devolution

dn_screenSouth Down MP Margaret Ritchie (SDLP) has questioned the Treasury on the support the Government will give to manufacturing businesses in Northern Ireland.

Ms Ritchie said: “I support the devolution of corporation tax to help support our manufacturing sector and make our businesses more globally competitive. Yet with manufacturers facing unprecedented uncertainty around regulation and access to export markets, the Government must do more to protect our existing manufacturing sector and encourage growth.

“This means providing the resources necessary to fund greater skills training for apprentices, and providing employers with the support they need to take on new employees. It also means protecting cross-border supply chains by keeping Northern Ireland in the European Single Market,” said Ms Ritchie.
