Mourne’s Sinn Féin Councillor Willie Clarkexa0has warned egg-throwing teenagers that they could cause a serious accident if they don’t stop their antisocial behaviour.
Cllr Clarke said:xa0″I have witnessed attacks on vehicles in Newcastle at the traffic lights on the Shimna Road, and Dundrum Main Street in Newcastle. This activity might be seen as a prank to those committing it but is extremely upsetting for those at the brunt of the ‘joke’ and these incidents will be taken seriously.
“A motorist could lose control of their vehicle,through a lack of visibility following the impact of an egg on their windscreen. This could lead to serious injury to the motorist and pedestrians or cyclists at the location. I have raised my concerns with the PSNI.”
