McGreevy’s butchers in Downpatrick at the Ballymote Centre yet again showed their generosity to the local community by organising their incredible annual swim and BBQ at Loughmoney.
Thanks to all the generous donations a fantastic £1,500 was raised for Cancer Focus NI.
“Cancer Focus NI is a charity that supports all aspects of cancer, from research to patient support, and we wanted to give a little something back,” said owner Richard McGreevy.
Suzie Colledge, Community Fundraising Officer for Cancer Focus NI, said: “I want to thank Richard and everyone involved for organising such a successful event for this worthy cause.
“It’s great to see a local business supporting their local cancer charity. Without everyone’s generous support we wouldn’t be able to continue our vital work supporting cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland.”
Cancer Focus NI offers a wide range of services including counselling, support groups, a family service, bra and swimwear fitting for mastectomy patients, art therapy, Beauty for Life and stop smoking sessions.
The charity also carries out cancer prevention projects in schools, sports clubs, leisure centres and other community venues to help improve the health of your community and lower your risk of cancer. Cancer Focus NI also funds major research into breast cancer at Queen’s University, Belfast.
Anyone who has concerns about cancer can speak to a specialist nurse on the Cancer Focus NI free Nurseline, 0800 783 3339.
