Police Appeal After Aggravated Burglary At Ballyward

Detectives in Downpatrick are investigating the report of an aggravated burglary at a house on the Ribadoo Road near Ballyward on Monday 10 October.

dn_screenIt was reported that three men entered the house at around 7.30pm armed with two suspected firearms and a hammer. Threats and demands for money were made from the female occupant who was at home with her three small children.

The house was ransacked by the three men who then locked the family members in the bathroom before making off in their grey Audi A4 car.

Two of the men were described as being around 6’ tall, of slim build whilst the third man was around 5’8” tall and of stocky build. The three men wore masks, gloves and hi-vis tops.

The woman and children were not physically injured as a result of the incident but were left badly shaken.

Detective Inspector Bolster has appealed for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information about the incident to contact detectives in Downpatrick on 101 quoting reference number 1207 10/10/16.
