Independent Slieve Croob Councillor Patrick Clarke has been in contact with OFCOM, Three UK, EE and Orange following a number of complaints about no mobile network reception in the Slieve Croob, Drumnaquoile and Drumaroad areas for a number of weeks following complaints from constituents.
Councillor Patrick Clarke said:xa0“I had received numerous calls in the last three to four days from constituents regarding no mobile network reception or coverage in the Slieve Croob, Drumnaquoile, Drumaroad areas and postcode areas BT24 which have completely lost all mobile network coverage.
“Following making representations to OFCOM and the three network providers who previously advised customers that coverage was not being affected in the Slieve Croob areas a fault has now been detected on the Slieve Croob transmitter.
“I have now received confirmation that a transmitter in the Slieve Croob area has been experiencing mobile network reception problems due to a wind turbine which Three UK, Orange and EE have now confirmed will be urgently addressed.
“A technical engineering team will be onsite on Thursday 8th September to resolve this network problem which has left many customers of these three networks with no mobile reception for the last three to four weeks,” xa0added Councillor Patrick Clarke.
