On Thursday 22 September, Green Shoot Productions are bringing their popular production, ‘Two Sore Legs’ to the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, Newry.
Exactly one year ago on 22 September 2015, ‘Two Sore Legs’ played to a packed house in Newry and will certainly have pulses racing on their return with this production that has thrilled audiences throughout Northern Ireland.
This acclaimed show has been described by the Edinburgh Evening News as, “jaw achingly funny, an incredible one woman tour de force”.
Set in 1950’s /60’s Belfast, the play tells the true story of the playwright’s mother Bridget, a young Butlin’s Redcoat, who had six children by a married man. The theatrical performance explores the scandal, pain, joy and fall-out from this extraordinary family arrangement and what it meant for Brenda, her siblings and, of course, her mother.
Following its sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival, The Lyric Theatre and New York, ‘Two Sore Legs’ comes to Newry with a clutch of outstanding reviews and a performance by Maria Connolly that will leave you breathless.
Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick said: “I would encourage anyone interested in a good night’s entertainment to attend this production. Green Shoot has a reputation of delivering quality events and I am sure this one will not disappoint.”
Show starts at 8pm with tickets priced at £8/£6 concession. To book tickets or for further information please contact the Box Office on 028 3031 3180 or email:
