Shaw Harper Art Exhibition To Run In Newcastle

shaw harperNewcastle water colour artist Shaw Harper is holding his latest and fifth exhibition in the Newcastle Library running from 18-29th July 2016.

After a long career as art director in advertising, he is returning to his passion once again … fine art painting.

Shaw’s paintings have been purchased and exhibited by art lovers throughout the world.

He said: “Watercolour is my favourite medium and I am constantly trying to achieve a sense of atmosphere through the use of light and shade. Painting is very easy when you don’t know how, but very difficult when you do as Degas said.

“It is a particularly difficult medium to work in, unlike oils or acrylic, it’s unforgiving. Once you make a mistake there is no way back. For each of the works on show I will have probably destroyed twice as many, if not more. Still, it’s a wonderful medium. The enjoyment is constantly learning to master it.”

All the originals on show in the exhibition are also available as fine art prints by contacting Shaw. They are produced on high quality 190gm fine art watercolour paper, and embossed with the artists seal for complete authenticity.
