McGrath Says Ballynoe Stone Circle Entrance Must Be Kept Clear

South Down SDLP MLA Colin McGrath has called on officials to ensure that the entrance area to Ballynoe Stone Circle is kept clear.

Commenting, the Colin McGrath said “In the past it has taken local residents to contact myself to then contact the Department to request that the entrance lane to this historical site be kept clear of overgrowing vegetation.

“I would like to see officials at the Department for Communities place this site on a rota so it is regularly cleared and doesn’t rely on residents and politicians to chase them and have the work completed.

“Ballynoe Stone Circle is a fine example of our heritage and history and such sites must be preserved and protected and not left uncared for.

“I welcome the commitment of officials to clear the site on this occasion and hope it can continue for the future.”
