Fitzpatrick Condemns Mayobridge Vandalism

dn_screenThe Chair of Newry Mourne and Down District Council, Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick, has condemned those behind a spate of vandalism in Mayobridge.

The damage included sign posts being pulled out, mail boxes thrown into fields and flowerpots uprooted.

Cllr Fitzpatrick said:xa0“On Saturday night it appears that vandals caused damage at a number of spots throughout Mayobridge. Without a care for the local community or local people, they pulled out signs, threw mail boxes into fields and damaged flower pots that have lifted the atmosphere in the village.

“Residents on the Carnmeen and Old Carnmeen road are deeply frustrated by this attack on our community. Those behind it have demonstrated an absolute lack of concern for our area.

“I would appeal to anyone with any information to contact the police.”
