The organisers of Circuit Déjà Vu, Dr. Beatty Crawford and Alan Tyndall made a generous donation of €5,000 to London marathon runner Sarah Jardine who is raising funds for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.
Sarah, who is a fitness trainer in Hillsborough, competed the recent 26-mile marathon in just under four hours. Sarah’s mother Heather Crawford and Alan’s wife Lynn were a vital part of the Circuit Déjà vu organising team.
Circuit Déjà Vu, recalled the magic days of the old Circuit of Ireland. A total of 170 cars traversed the classic Co. Kerry rally stages with nine former Circuit winners and more than 300 rallying fans joining in the celebrations and reviving memories.
Cancer Focus NI challenge event fundraising manager Emma McArdle said: “We really appreciate this donation from Circuit Déjà Vu and would like to thank everyone who made a contribution.
“We are also delighted that Sarah chose our charity to fundraise for. All the money donated will be spent supporting cancer patients and their families in Northern Ireland.
“We also invest in cutting-edge breast cancer research at Queen’s University Belfast and have an extensive cancer prevention programme in workplaces, schools and the community. We couldn’t do our valuable work without the support of the public.”
