Skiffie Worlds 2016 is coming to our shores for the first time from 24-30th July.
This is an international rowing festival where St Ayles skiffs built of wood, come from around the coasts of Scotland, England, Wales, and the ROI xa0to enjoy their annual races and fun events.
It will be a great community festival and people will have a chance to try out coastal rowing for the first time.
In County Down so far there have been eight St Ayle’s built and their four man and four women crews and coxes. This will be the first year the local skiffs have competed in the races and it will be an uphill challenge for them, but Dundrum and Strangford rowing crews just might on performance be in with a chance of winning some o the silver against some very fit and experienced crews.
