On Monday 8 February, Down Home Accident Prevention (HAP) will be bringing the ‘Bee Safe’ campaign into the Newry, Mourne and Down District.
Hundreds of local primary school children from across the district are scheduled to take part in events held in Downpatrick and Clough.
The ‘Bee Safe’ education days, which will run until Friday 12 February, will seek to inform children about a range of Health and Safety issues that they may face or come across in everyday life, through the use of role-play and real life scenarios. The aim of these events is to educate the children on how to keep themselves safe and avoid potential dangerous situations.

* xa0Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service – ‘Fire Safety’
Down HAP Chairperson Anne Murray said: “This will be the seventh consecutive year of the ‘Bee Safe’ campaign and we are delighted that it will continue to run in the district.
“I am confident that participants will enjoy the event as it is sure to include various elements of fun throughout the scenarios, keeping them light hearted, whilst still conveying the important safety messages. I look forward to working with the other agencies involved with the event and appreciate the funding support from the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust”.
