Assisi Animal Sanctuary have been boosted byxa0JP Corry, axa0local builders’ merchant, with a generous donation of building materials.
The County Down animal sanctuary received a considerable donation from the building supplier, including doors, insulation, rainwater solutions and timber. The donated materials will be used to make improvements to the shelter, allowing the charity to focus their efforts on rescuing and caring for the animals.
Ciaran Mc Connell, Managing Director of JP Corry is thrilled to have helped the charity and said: “We are delighted to support local charity. The building materials supplied will allow Assisi to provide the best care for the animals. xa0Our donation will ultimately allow the charity to continue with the valuable work they do with the animals.
“Assisi is an exceptional charity, and we are always on the lookout for new ways of being involved with local communities.”
Assisi Animal Sanctuary is Northern Ireland’s largest independent animal welfare charity, providing shelter for up to 200 animals including dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, rabbits and guinea pigs. With annual operating costs of £400,000 and no government aid, Assisi is dependent on fundraising, donations and legacies to enable it to offer its rehoming service and fostering scheme.
Assisi manager, Heather Weartherup said the centre is delighted to receive huge support from JP Corry. She added: “Ongoing maintenance is a huge financial burden to us and this donation of materials allows us to focus our available funds on the animals.xa0 A massive thank you J.P Corry.”
