Concerns Over Ferry Ramp In Strangford

dn_screenSouth Down MLA Chris Hazzard (Sinn Féin) has contacted DRD Minister Michelle McIlveen as concerns grow in Strangford regarding plans to construct a ferry ramp in front of the village green.

The South Down MLA was in Strangford this week speaking to residents who are concerned that DRD plans will impact greatly on their ability to utilise their village green during the upgrade of the existing ferry ramp.

Mr Hazzard said:xa0″I welcome the fact that investment is going into an upgraded ferry service for Strangford Lough, but it is vital that we don’t destroy the environmental and maritime heritage of the village at the same time.

“DRD own sufficient land to the east of the existing terminal which would easily accommodate a temporary ramp whilst the upgraded ramp is finished.”
