Downpatrick Police Appeal For Witnesses Following Assault In The Town

Police in Downpatrick are appealing for information following an assault in the town.

dn_screenAround 2am on Sunday 6 December a 26-year old man was assaulted on St Patrick’s Avenue. He sustained facial and head injuries which required medical treatment.

A 27 year-old man was later arrested for GBH with intent and was subsequently released on bail pending further enquiries.

Constable Graeme Mackenzie said: “We are currently conducting enquiries to establish the exact circumstance of this incident and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or has information that may assist our investigation. We can be contacted in Downpatrick on 101, quoting ref: 211 061215.”
