Jim Shannon MP for Strangford has congratulated all the members and those involved in the retention of the Portavogie victory at the World Championships.
He said: “To hear that Portavogie Pipe Band are now grade 4b World Champions is a very proud moment for me as the MP for the area. I stand in Westminster and highlight my constituency and also my culture and heritage and it is just fantastic to know that I represent the World Champions in such a prestigious cultural event.
“I can only imagine the hard work and organization that is need to achieve this and I offer sincere congratulations and well done! You have done yourselves proud, done Portavogie proud and indeed the whole of Strangford proud!”
