Downpatrick Student Secures Life-Saving Research Internship

image001A Downpatrick student has secured a high profile summer internship with blood cancer charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI.

Ciaran Mullan will work with the charity team in profiling the life-saving work of the researchers. Three people are diagnosed with a blood cancer, such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma, every day in Northern Ireland.

Ciaran said: “Having worked in a hospital as my part-time job, I always knew I wanted to help people in some way in my future career. Working for the charity over the summer allows me to further my skills whilst also providing help at key fundraising efforts such as the Sponsored Walks and Blood Cancer Awareness Month.”

Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI is the only charity in Northern Ireland solely dedicated to blood cancer research.
