The staff ‘got their hands dirty’ with some weeding and planting as part of the insurance company’s sponsorship of the competition which started earlier this year.

John Laverty from Open+Direct Insurance said: “We were thrilled to announce our partnership with The ‘Best Kept’ Awards and are really excited that the preparation and activity is really ramping up! More Open+Direct Insurance teams have volunteered with their local town improvement committees or resident groups across Northern Ireland and we’re all really enjoying the opportunity of playing a part in making our communities brighter, cleaner and happier places to live! ”

Lawrence Murphy BEM, Chairman of Saintfield in Bloom 365 added: “Saintfield in Bloom 365 has been in operation for 4 years and we meet on a regular basis, we are a small group and everyone gives their time voluntarily. From maintaining railing planters and litter picks – we do a number of activities to keep Saintfield looking its very best. We had a great day with the Open+Direct staff and look forward to the awards!”
