Burns Calls For Fence Improvements At Castlewellan Oaklee Housing Estate

Newry Mourne and Down Councillor Stephen Burns (Sinn Féin) has made representations to Oaklee Trinity on behalf of residents regarding the lack of protection provided by the security fence on their Newcastle Road development.

dn_screenCouncillor Burns visited the area and said:xa0″I was approached by one of the residents of Newcastle Road, who pointed out that the security fence does not provide full protection. The gap allows access to the rear gardens of two of the houses and has rightly been a cause of some concern as easy access to the properties can be gained.

“I have written to the housing association in question, requesting that they take action to ensure that the fence provides adequate protection. There is a shortfall of some two meters in the fence and I am confident that a cost effective resolution can be found to this issue.”
