Mourne Mountain Adventure Success

On Saturday 25 April over 300 young people aged 13 to 18 participated in the Mourne Mountain Adventure Challenge.

In teams of four or six, young people were given the challenging task of navigating their way through the Mourne Mountains whilst completing a number of stimulating tasks. The groups finished up in Silent Valley and enjoyed an afternoon of fun packed activities including archery, clay pigeon shooting and a thrill ride on the RIBS at Kilkeel Harbour.

Speaking at the event, Cllr Naomi Bailie said: “Congratulations to all the groups who took part and to the multi-agencies who partnered together to run and deliver this event. It has been a great success and I’m positive the event achieved its aim of showing young people positive ways of spending their time and preventing them from engaging in anti-social behaviour.
