dn_screenThe team started slowly against Kilcoo and were behind at the break, however still staying within touching distance. The lads showed their passion for the jersey in the second half where at times Kilcoo couldn’t get out of their own half on occasions. Some great defending strong midfield play and great attacking gave a final score of 1-11 to 2-5 setting up the local derby with Downpatrick.

Against Downpatrick, the Island made a great start against scoring 2 goals in quick succession, however after this Downpatrick dominated the rest of the half and were up by 7 points at one stage! After a stern half time team talk, the Blues produced another fantastic second half display, full of determination, pride and no shortage of skill!! They fought back and won by a point at the end, again with a strong defence and midfield, with the attack causing Downpatrick lots of problems. Final score Loughinisland 2-14 Downpatrick 1-9. The start of the season has shown the great promise of this team, with every individual player on the panel giving great performances! Keep it up Lads” The Club are delighted to announce that Brennan’s Ices are to continue their sponsorship of the Senior Team.
