Sinn Féin Councillor Willie Clarke Welcomes Jobs Fair

dn_screenNewcastle area Councillor Willie Clarke (Sinn Féin) has welcomed the hosting of a Jobs Fair, by the Department for Employment and Learning in the Slieve Donard Hotel and Spa in Newcastle on Tuesday 31 March 2015 from 9.30am to 1pm.

Speaking about the initiative, Cllr Clarke said: “Jobs Fairs are a practical way of helping to match local people searching for work with opportunities for jobs and apprenticeships. The event would comprise of businesses and organisations to advertise their vacancies and apprenticeship opportunities on the day.

“The jobs fair will enable direct access for Jobseeker’s to companies with vacancies, apprenticeships and training schemes. There will also be support organisations available to assist with your job search and provide advice and guidance on training.”

Cllr Clarke added: “During this challenging time for the economy It is important to provide opportunities for those in Down District, who are in need of work through redundancy or are simply finding it difficult to get their first job. This initiative will provide Job Seekers an opportunity to meet a wide variety of employers with vacancies and access opportunities all under one roof.”
