Police Appeal After Castlewellan Assault

dn_screenPolice in Newcastle are appealing for information following an assault that occurred in the Main Street area of Castlewellan, close to the library, on Tuesday 10 March.

Sometime between 4.50pm and 5.10pm, a 17-year old man was assaulted by another man. He required medical treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life- threatening.

Constable Robert Wilson said: “It is believed that a woman passe-by helped break up the altercation. I would ask her, or anyone who knows anything about this incident, to contact Newcastle Police Station on the non- emergency number 101.”
