Police Appeal After Lorry Breaks Telephone Cables In Newcastle

dn_screenPolice in Newcastle are appealing for information following a hit and run road traffic collision in the Bannonstown Road area of Castlewellan on 6 January.

Constable Revels-Ward explained: “Sometime between 3.30pm and 4pm, a white Ford Iveco lorry which was carrying steel beams was travelling along the road when its load caught on telephone cables at the side of the road, causing damage.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the incident, or anyone with any other information, to contact police at Newcastle station on the non-emergency number 101.”
