Police Appeal After Scotch Street Incident On 20 December

dn_screenPolice in Downpatrick are appealing for information following a suspected assault in the Scotch Street area on the evening of Saturday 20 December.

At around 11pm, police attended the scene where a large crowd had gathered. Officers dispersed the crowd and observed a man lying on the ground with injuries to his head. The man was attended to by ambulance staff and treated for a cut to his head. A 20-year old man, arrested at the scene, on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, was released on bail pending further enquiries

Constable Adam Poots has appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have information to assist officers with their enquiries to contact police in Downpatrick on 101.
