McCallister Welcomes Salt Boxes For Dundrum

dn_screenIndependent Unionist MLA for South Down John McCallister has welcomed news that three new salt bins are to be provided at Murlough View, Dundrum.

He said: “I made this request a few weeks ago after calling at homes in the area and asking their views on various local issues. Lack of salt bins was a major issue for many people and I am delighted that Transport NI have agreed to my request. “They quickly carried out an assessment and confirmed with me that three bins at key locations would improve safety and make life easier for residents especially when the bad winter weather arrives.” Mr McCallister continued, “These houses are sited on steep inclines and the residents have had to deal for years with getting to and from their properties in dangerously icy conditions during the winter. “The addition of three grit boxes will enhance both traffic and pedestrian safety as they will enable the residents to ‘self-help’ when conditions required it.”]]>
