Confirmation of the quality of provision offered by Northern Ireland’s six Further Education Colleges
Noelle Buick, Chief Inspector with the Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI) published her report for the July 2012- June 2014 period recently. The findings show that provision was good, very good or outstanding across 90% of the further education professional and technical courses inspected. This compares very favourably to 63% in the post primary and 84% in the primary sectors.
The report refers to the high quality provision across the FE sector in terms of leadership and management, economic engagement, curriculum planning, innovation and discrete provision for students with learning difficulties and / or disabilities.
