Friends Of The Late Marianne O'Shea Raise Funds For Local Cancer Charities

Ardglass suffered a great loss on the 19 June when Marianne O’Shea lost her battle against breast cancer.

Her family and friends have in her memory continued Marianne’s brave quest for funds for local cancer charities and recently held a Girl’s Night In in Ardglass. Siobhan Rooney said: “I decided I would try to raise £10,000 in Marianne’s memory within a year, but in just four months we had raised £8,300. We we really overwhelmed by the support from everyone. This money has been donated to the NI Cancer Fund For Children at Daisy Lodge, Marie Curie Cancer Care , Action Cancer, and Cancer Research. We have topped £10,000 and we would like to thank all of the people who donated to us including our many generous sponsors.

“Our next fundraiser is the Christmas craft fair on 30 November from 11-3pm in the Ardglass Community Centre.”
