Macmillan Coffee Morning By Addictions Team Raises £265

The Community Addictions Team in the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust are based in Lough House, Newtownards Hospital and provide services for individuals dependant on alcohol and drugs across the North Down and Ards area. The community based team offer a range of services including group work support and service user involvement. A Macmillan coffee morning was recently held in conjunction with the fortnightly Recovery Group which is held at Lough House. Service users were invited to take part and invite friends and family members to meet the team who also used the day to showcase the support available for not only the individual but for young people and the family. Voluntary agencies including The Simon Community, YES. Project and Narcotics Anonyms also attended and showcased their services. Service users were actively involved with day providing support to each other as well as a Varity of biscuits, buns and cakes that were appreciated by all who attended. Staff in the Community Addictions Team would like to thank all those who attended the day and so far have raised £265.
