A 49-year-old male is expected to appear at Downpatrick Magistrate’s Court this morning, Thursday 14 August charged with a number of offences including causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
It is believed the charges are in connection with a serious assault which took place in the Castleward Road area of Downpatrick on 13 August xa0during which a man sustained a serious chest wound which required hospital treatment.
Two other men, aged 42 and 30, were also arrested in connection with the assault. They were later released on bail pending further enquiries.
