Alliance Councillor Patrick Clarke Seeks Extra Parking In Castlewellan Estate

Alliance Councillor Patrick Clarke has contacted DRD Roads Service regarding extra parking provision in Burren Grove along the Newcastle Road, Castlewellan following concerns from a number of residents who are having difficulty parking due to some houses having two or three vehicles parked outside.

I would like Roads Service to investigate the possibility of developing this grassed area into more parking spaces as currently Burren Grove due to some houses having two cars or more is now becoming quite congested. “Following a recent visit to Burren Grove in Castlewellan, I believe believe Burren Grove does merit extra parking provision and the grassed area near the existing parking spaces would be ideal. “For the Housing Executive to consider the provision for extra parking spaces in any area including Burren Grove the Housing Executive must own over 50% of the properties in that estate. “Unfortunately, this doesn’t apply in Burren Grove as the Housing Executive have 6 tenants with the rest of the properties privately owned. So I have contacted DRD Roads Service to provide assistance. I am therefore hoping Roads Service will consider my request for extra parking provision.”]]>
