Sinn Féin Councillor Willie Clarke Seeks Resolution To Ballaghbeg Refuse Collection Issue

dn_screenSinn Féin Councillor Willie Clarke has said he is hopeful in finding a solution to overflowing bins caused as a result of refuse trucks having difficulty getting access to Ballaghbeg Park in Newcastle due to parked cars regularly blocking their path.

Cllr Clarke said:xa0“I have received a number of complaints from people living in Ballaghbeg Park estate regarding this issue.

“The refuse vehicle cannot get through if cars are parked on both sides, so they turn around and go back. I have been engaged in discussions with council officers over the weekend in an effort to resolve the problems residents face.

“This situation has been going on for a number of years and residents are getting to the end of their tether.

“I would urge drivers to ensure that parked cars do not block access on bin collection days. I will be seeking a meeting with Council officers, Transport NI and Housing Executive with a view to addressing the parking difficulties in the area.”
