“I’ve been contacted by local residents in the area concerned about the persistent nature of the flooding and that it is clearly a danger to road users. “The flood itself lies over more than half the road, so when drivers approach often they are forced to swerve across the centreline and into the lane of oncoming traffic. I have been advised of a number of ‘near misses’ at the site where drivers have thankfully but only just avoided collisions. “I understand that current drainage measures at the site are insufficient in times of heavy rainfall, with drains continually clogged due to road debris and other elements. I have requested that Roads Service install additional drainage at the site which will alleviate pressure off the current drains and provide more seepage,” added Ms Bailie.]]>
