College Creations First For ‘Art In The Loft’ Exhibition In Portaferry

The creative work of 10 college students makes up the first exhibition of the season in The Loft Gallery, Portaferry.

dn_screen‘Reaction, Direction, Creation’, which showcases the work of second year students from the South Eastern Regional College (SERC), has opened the 2014 Art in Loft exhibitions in the town’s Visitor Information Centre, owned and managed by Ards Borough Council.

Featuring a mixture of fine art, print and 3D work, including ceramics, the show is worth a visit, according to Craft Development Manager with the Council, Heather Parker, said:

“Local Ards-based ceramic artist, Andrew Cooke, followed the same route as the students exhibiting and I’m delighted that we start this season by showing the work of local artists at the beginning of their careers, giving them – and the public – an opportunity to see just what talent is being developed in our local colleges”.

‘Reaction, Direction, Creation’ runs until Saturday 31 May 2014. Admission to the exhibition is free. For more information on this exhibition and the ‘Art in the Loft’ series visit:
