Portaferry Visitor Information Centre Hosts WI Exhibition

An exhibition to celebrate eighty years of the Women’s Institute (WI) in Portaferry has opened in the town’s Visitor Information Centre.

Visitors to the free exhibition will learn that there is more to the WI than jam making and baking – although the members did produce 2270lbs of jam for sale during World War Two!

The exhibition will also display videos and photographs showing the many activities members take part in and will celebrate eighty years of the WI as a feature of village life.

The Women’s Institute exhibition will run fromxa0Saturday 19 April to Sunday 1 June 2014xa0in the Portaferry Visitor Information Centre, The Stables, Castle Street, Portaferry.
