Bee Safe 2014, organised by Down Home Accident Prevention (HAP), has buzzed into County Down on Monday 7xa0 April,xa0Hundreds of local primary school children from across the district took part in these events held in Downpatrick and Clough.
The ‘Bee Safe’ education days inform children, using role-play and real life scenarios, about a range of Health and Safety issues that they may face or come across in everyday life. The aim is to teach them how to keep themselves safe and how to avoid potential dangerous situations.

* xa0Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service – ‘Fire Safety’
Speaking about the events, Down HAP Chairperson, Kelly Squance commented, “This is the sixth consecutive year of the Bee Safe campaign and we are delighted to be running it. I am glad the participants enjoyed the event as we tried to include elements of fun throughout the scenarios keeping them light hearted whilst still conveying the important safety messages.
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the other agencies involved in the event. We appreciate funding support from The South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust, Down Police and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) and the PSNI without their contribution the event would not have been possible.”
