Ballynahinch Youth Face Up To Dangers of Drugs and Alcohol

Ballynahinch youth enjoyed a session on drugs and alcohol awareness promoted by the Down PCSP and Langley Road Community Association.  Ballynahinch youth enjoyed a session on drugs and alcohol awareness promoted by the Down PCSP and Langley Road Community Association.[/caption] As part of the on-going Ballynahinch Youth Engagement Project, which is being currently deliveredxa0 by Langley Road Community Association and Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP), local youths undertook an information awareness session on the harm that can be caused by drugs and alcohol. It was agreed that the workshop which was facilitated by ASCERT was engaging and informative and allowed young people to learn about the dangers of substances and in particular those classed as ‘legal highs’. Speaking about the project, PCSP Chairman Cllr Willie Clarke said: “The Youth Engagement Project has been a highly successful and has explored a wide variety of themes including anti-social behaviour, substance abuse and cultural identity whilst at the same time providing the opportunity forxa0 volunteers of the scheme to enjoy a number of enjoyable days out.”   xa0]]>
