Coghlan Calls For Down Runners For Dublin 5K

Race director, legendary athlete and Senator, Eamonn Coghlan is calling on all Down runners to take part in the forthcoming St. Patrick’s Festival 5K Family Fun Run which takes place in Dublin on Sunday,16 March next, beginning at 12.00 noon from a new start/finish line at the junction of Dawson Street/St. Stephen’s Green.

Down athlete, Kerry Harty of Newcastle AC won the women’s category in 2011 in a time of 16 min 21 sec.
Timed to allow participants to travel to the city and back on the same day, the race is open to fun runners of all ages and has become an integral part of the St. Patrick’s festival programme.

According to the organising club, Metro St. Brigid’s AC, early online entries are running at record level and this year, runners can enter online for €20 by  14 March or on the day for €25. A special rate of €40 applies to families of up to four who register on the day only.
