Burgess Calls For Crossgar Roundabout Improvements

Down District Rowallene Councillor Burgess has called on the DRD Road Service to urgently install safety barriers at the roundabout at the bottom of Killyleagh Street in Crossgar.

He said: There are already safety barriers on part of the roundabout but this precedent needs to be continued to all the paved areas particularly following a recent accident which highlighted the potential dangers for pedestrians.

“I also believe calming measures are needed on the approach from Saintfield. Traffic from this direction paricularly at rush hours is at times quite fast which has the potential for major accidents,” added Cllr Burgess.
