Calling All Young Entrepreneurs: Don’t Miss the Deadline for the 2014 Dermot Curran Young Achiever Awards.

The deadline of Friday 28 February 2014 for applications for this year’s Dermot Curran Young Achiever Awards is nearly here.xa0 All nominations for the 2014 Awards must be received by Down District Council by this date.

The Dermot Curran Young Achievers Award recognises outstanding individuals who have demonstrated the entrepreneurial spirit and determination needed to achieve success.xa0 The Award is designed to acknowledge and encourage young people who have contributed to the economic development of Down District and to showcase their skills in building local business.

The closing date for entries is 4.00 pm, Friday 28 February 2014.

Applications will be accepted from, or on behalf of, young people between the ages of 16 and 35 years who have made a significant contribution to a business in Down District.

A schools competition is also open to teams of young people from Down District post-primary schools. xa0 All schools in the District have been notified and are encouraged to nominate a team.xa0 Applications for the schools competition must also be received by Friday 28 February 2014.

The 2014 Dermot Curran Young Achiever Awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held in Down Arts Centre, Irish Street, Downpatrick.xa0 All applicants and nominees will be invited to attend the event which is being supported by South East Regional College and Down District Council.
