MLA and Assembly Education spokesperson for Sinn Féin, Chris Hazzard MLA, has welcomed approval given by the Education Minister John O’Dowd for an increase in pupil numbers at St.Colman’s Primary School in Annaclone.dn_screen

He said: “There has been an increasing demand locally for the admission to what is an excellent school serving the wider Annaclone area. This approval for an increase in the capacity of the school from 134 to 161 will allow for the further development of St.Colmans and will help to meet local need.

“My party colleague John O’Dowd has assured me that the CCMS will be responsible for managing this increase in such a way that it will not have a negative affect on the intake of pupils to other schools in the area.”

“I have talked to a number of parents in the Annaclone area who are delighted with this increase to pupil numbers and look forward to further availing of the great education that St.Colman’s Primary School provides to local children,” xa0added Mr Hazzard.
