Islandderry Fishery Winter League Second Round

THE second round of the winter league took place atxa0Islandderryxa0Fishery on Saturday.

Some good sized trout were caught including 2 over 8lbs.xa0 Matthew McFadden, Lisburn, was lucky enough to land one of these weighing in at 8lbs 8oz which helped him take first place in this round with a 3 fish weight of 14lbs 12oz.

Second place went to Peter Reid, Dollingstown with a 3 fish weight of 13lba 4oz which included a fish of 8lbs 4oz while Peter’s boat partner Greer Gardiner bagged fourth place with 3 fish for 12lb11, his best weighing in at 5lb2.xa0 Third place went to Lisburn angler Barry McKibben with a 3 fish weight of 12lbs 12oz, his best fish weighing 6lbs 5oz.xa0dn_screen

The next round of the league will be held on Saturday 14 December.xa0 The next open event at the fishery is the Irish Disabled Fly Fishing Association Pairs competition on Sunday 8 December running fromxa09.30-3.30pm.

This event is to raise money for the Irish Disabled Fly Fishing team and is open to everyone.xa0 Also, bookings are now being taken for the popular Boxing Day Fly Fishing competition.
