Rowallene Councillor Terry Andrews, one of the driving forces behind the Christmas Fair, said: “There was a fantastic buzz around the town. Everyone really enjoyed the atmosphere.
“This was the first time we have had a Christmas fair involving the whole community and it has been a great success. I would ike to congratulate everyone on the day who helped make this event so much pleasure for the residents of Crossgar and the many visitors.
“The atmosphere had built up for a few days beforehand and local traders, organisations and individuals all worked hard to ensure there was plenty of interest for all to enjoy. There were plenty of stalls selling a wide variety of Christmas goods and the local shops too openbed up late and had a good run.

“This event really showcased Crossgar as a vibrant community. It was good to see the local churches all getting involved too making the event a truly cross-community evening. Â Myself, Michael Shephard and local groups and businesses worked for a number of weeks to ensure all went well on the night… and it did. The atmosphere through the village was brilliant and the switching on of the Christmas lights by Santa was ‘electric’. We will build on this success for next year,” Â added Cllr Andrews.
