Police Appeal After Downpatrick Mugging Attempt

DOWNPATRICK detectives are appealing for information following an attempted robbery of a 26-year old man that occurred on the evening of Monday 18 November.xa0dn_screen At approximatelyxa06.30pmxa0in the Folly Lane area, between St Patrick’s Avenue and Irish Street, a young man demanded money and valuables from the 26-year old. He made off empty handed in the direction of St Patrick’s Avenue. The 26-year old man was not injured in the incident but was left shaken. The assailant is described as being aged in his late teens, approximately 5’5″ in height and of slim build. He was wearing a black jacket, a light blue hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms. Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact CID in Downpatrick Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
