CASTLEWELLAN Councillor Stephen Burns (Sinn Féin)xa0has called on Down District Council to provide temporary extra parking facilities while the new football pitch is being constructed on the Bann Road in the town.xa0

He said:xa0“During the much needed construction of the new pitch the existing parking facilities will be temporarily inhibited. It is for this reason that I have requested that the council provide temporary extra parking at the top of the pitches close to the recycling centre in order to alleviate the parking problems during the construction.

“I would also ask the public to have patience during the construction and to respect the fact that it is a building site and that in the interests of health and safety no one enters or interferes with the site in any way.”
