Research Published On The Impact Of Welfare Reform On Social Housing Tenants. The Department for Social Development has today published research on the impact of the proposed housing benefit reforms on the social rented sector.xa0dn_screen The Impact of the Housing Benefit Reforms on the Social Rented Sector: A Study for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Department for Social Development, was jointly commissioned by the Department and the Housing Executive. The research was undertaken by Glasgow University and particularly focuses on the impacts of the proposed changes of size criteria to Housing Benefit for social rented homes. The report is available at : http://www.dsdni.gov.uk/hb_report_draft_final_3_july_changes_accepted.pdf The report, which was commissioned in 2012, was based on an assumption that The Welfare Reform Bill (NI) 2012 would achieve Royal Assent by June 2013. However, the Bill is currently making its way through the legislative process at the Northern Ireland Assembly. With the shadow Council and EU elections just nine months away, this report will help to further the policy of political parties as well as government policy makers.  ]]>
