THE Mourne Mountain Rescue Team had double callout on Saturday 24 August.

The rescue team were tasked at 10.30am to assist a female walker who had fallen and sustained a head injury while coming down from xa0Slieve Binnian during a charity walk.

The team responded immediately, treated the casualty who was then stretchered to the team landrover. The casualty was transferred to an ambulance at the Carrick Little Car Park and was taken on xa0to hospital. Altogether a team of fourteen MMRT members were involved. .

During the first incident the team learned of the other accident and went toxa0assist a male walker who had fallen and suffered a leg injury near Lower Cove.

The team responded to the emergency call and the casualty’s injury was treated before he was evacuated a short distance to the team landrover. The casualty was handed over to a waiting ambulance at Carrick Little Car Park.xa0The MMRT team was stood down at 3.30pm.
