Bright GAC Notes

The club would like to extend it’s condolences to the entire family circle of Brian Holland who sadly passed away last week.xa0

The Men played away to Aughlisnafinxa0on Fridayxa0night, which saw them narrowly beaten 0-14 to 0-10.xa0 Bright were short due to a few players carrying injuries and as a result this saw a few players playing out of position.xa0 Nevertheless the men played some great football and battled well in the first half with great defensive work from Caolán Tumeltyxa0writes Ciara Sharvin.
Bright also had an opportunity for a goal but were denied by the Finn defence, in what some thought should have been a penalty but in the end the referee decided not to award it, this saw both teams finishing at half time all equal with 5 points.xa0 The Second half proved too much for Bright, with Conor McAllister being added to the injury list 10mins into the half, this saw Donal McCartan the only sub to go on.
Some great scores were taken by Matthew Burns and John McLeigh and even though Bright fought back and picked up pace in the last 5mins the Finn in the end proved just that little bit quicker off the mark.
Socrers were; B.Kelly 0-1, M.Burns 0-3, A McMenamin 0-1, J.Hanna 0-2, J.McLeigh 0-2 and Donal McCartan 0-1.xa0 Unlucky result boys, keep the heads up and keep at it.The Under-10’s would like to call on all boys and girls to come out to play.
