“Following being lobbied by a number of parents in regards to safety issues related to the junior play park and the extremely busy Shimna Road, I raised a number of concerns with Council officials that this situation had to be rectified,” said Councillor Clarke.

“This included the replacement of dilapidated fencing along the Castle Park perimeter and the need for a safety gate. The new gate has improved the safety and visual appearance of the park, which will enhance the visitor experience.”

“I welcome the news that the fencing will also be replaced. This is a park used by many locals and visitors alike and the infrastructure and appearance has to be fit for purpose.”
