Theft from Car in Hilltown

Police are appealing for information following the report of a theft from a vehicle in the Sandbank Road area of Hilltown on Thursday 20th June.

It was reported that at sometime between 11.45am and 2.15pm a window from a parked silver coloured Ford Transit minibus was removed with property belonging to students on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition taken. The discarded property was later recovered on Sunday 23 June at a field in the Drumlee Road area of Kilcoo.dn_screen
Police would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Sandbank Road area on Thursday 20th June or in the Drumlee Road area in the time thereafter to contact them in Warrenpoint on 0845 600 8000.
Motorists are advised that leaving valuables on view in a vehicle is an invitation to thieves. If they see something valuable on view, they will find a way to get it. You only have to leave your vehicle for a short time for a thief to act.
